We had a great Saturday night! We went to the Floating Cinema which is part of the Perth Arts Festival and watched Asterix & Obelix. The cinema was set up on the Swan River and we watched from the beach with a picnic.

I'm fortunate to work in a beautiful city. The ConocoPhillips office building is located in West Perth which is a nice, quiet suburb with plenty of cafes!

25 February - Day 15


This picture was taken at The Quarry Ampitheatre in City Beach, Perth.
Surrounded by bushland and previously a limestone quarry, this venue now holds band, jazz and ballet performances. My husband and I went last year to a jazz concert and ended up booking the band, Hip Mo'Toast for our wedding!

Fremantle, Western Australia.
Fremantle is located 20 minutes from Perth and is a beautiful area. My husband and I, along with 2 of our closest friends went to Fremantle (or Freo as it's more commonly known to the locals)for a weekend getaway last year. This was the view from our room!

23 February - Day 13


This picture was taken on my birthday last year when my husband took me to the Perth Zoo. It was the first and only time that I've seen a koala bear. Most people (outside of Australia) think they are very common in Australia but it's rare to see one in the wild.

We stopped at Meelup Beach near Dunsborough on our way home. My Husband enjoyed a nice snorkel while I watched from the beach.

21 February - Day 11


Cowaramup, Western Australia.
We went to the Colonial Brewing Company and stumbled upon the CowParade. This is the world's most famous public art event. Talented artists transform life size fibreglass cows into fabulous artworks. The blue cow was painted with Aboriginal artwork.

20 February - Day 10


Redgate Beach, Western Australia.
We stopped at Redgate Beach on our way to lunch. This is the closest beach to our accomodation and it is too cool and windy to go snorkelling today. Maybe tomorrow :-)

19 February - Day 9


My Husband and I are taking a 4 night road trip to Margaret River - a 3 hour drive from Perth. Our stone cottage is cute and cozy. We plan to drink good wine, eat fantastic food and snorkel if it isn't too cold.

18 February - Day 8


I’ve started golf lessons with my friend “K.” We go once a week to the Burswood Golf Course for our lesson with 4 other wannabe golfers. Our instructor is very patient and we get to take in beautiful views! This is where I'll be taking Dad when he comes to visit!!

17 February - Day 7


For Christmas, my husband gave me a sailing trip out of Fremantle, Western Australia. One of the boats we passed on the trip was the Leeuwin II. This is Australia's largest sail training tall ship and is dedicated to challenging and inspiring people on adventurous ocean voyages. Notice the people hanging from the "rails"!

15 February - Day 5


Adelaide, South Australia.
My husband and I took a trip to Adelaide last year over Easter. We stopped at the d’Arenberg Winery and had a 7 course degustation lunch with matching wines at d”Arry’s Verandah Restaurant. This was the best degustation we have ever experienced!

As a Christmas present, my husband’s brother, his wife and niece gave us a guided tour of Litchfield National Park and the surrounding areas. We had a great day and enjoyed seeing another piece of Australia together.

This picture was taken on the King's Park Lotterywest Federation Walkway. This bridge extends above the tree tops and provides a perfect view of Perth. This is where my husband proposed! King's Park is one of our favorite places in Perth.

11 February - Day One


Today marks my first day as a blogger. While I have the opportunity, I would like to share my life and journeys in Australia with my friends and family.
